Donor Relations and Stewardship Officer (Foundation)

We have an opportunity for a relationship-focused and detail-oriented professional to join us in a key role supporting donor engagement and stewardship. The Donor Relations & Stewardship Officer will work closely with the Foundation team to cultivate meaningful donor relationships and deliver exceptional donor experiences.
This role is responsible for executing a wide range of stewardship, donor recognition, and donor communications initiatives that ensure donors feel valued, informed, and connected to their impact.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR…
Donor Communications & Recognition
- Develop and implement a creative, comprehensive Donor Recognition Program across all giving levels.
- Coordinate recognition and naming opportunities associated with donor gifts.
- Manage stewardship initiatives such as the Heartfelt Thanks program and Donor Thank You Calls.
- Support the creation of impact reporting and storytelling in collaboration with Communications and clinical leaders.
Program Development & Donor Experience
- Create individualized stewardship journeys tailored to donor values and interests.
- Coordinate and manage the monthly giving program.
- Lead stewardship efforts for the Breakfast of Champions program.
- Plan and coordinate the annual Impact Market and other donor stewardship initiatives.
- Collaborate on stewardship plans for major, annual, and planned gift donors.
Prospect Research & Donor Intelligence
- Identify and implement best practices for stewardship operations.
- Support campaign-specific stewardship initiatives.
Database Management & Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry in Raiser’s Edge.
- Generate reports to inform stewardship activities and strategy.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure donor accountability and alignment of designated gifts.
Team Collaboration & Internal Communications
- Provide exceptional customer service to donors, volunteers, and internal stakeholders.
- Support gift agreement preparation and fulfillment.
- Maintain confidentiality and act as an ambassador for GBGHF in all settings.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The successful applicant will have or be able to demonstrate a commitment to developing the following qualifications and skills
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in donor relations, fundraising, or a related field.
- Experience in donor relations or stewardship; healthcare or hospital foundation experience an asset.
- Strong understanding of donor motivations, stewardship best practices, and donor-centered communications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with donor databases (Raiser’s Edge preferred).
- Knowledge of CRA guidelines for charitable receipting.
- Commitment to ethical fundraising practices (AFP/AHP).
- Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects over varying timelines, demonstrating excellence in prioritization, resourcefulness and problem-solving
- Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative work style, with demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, flexible and responsive attitude while managing competing interests and multiple stakeholders
- Proficient in MS Office (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), and project management tools (e.g. Monday.com)
- Bilingual (English and French) an asset.
- Hold a valid driver's license and have regular access to a vehicle.
